The Arcade and Hotel

Perhaps the most unique building in downtown Bridgeport is the Arcade. One of the nation’s first enclosed shopping malls, it features a spectacular glass skylight roof and Victorian gingerbread details in wrought iron.

The Arcade restoration, which is scheduled to begin soon, will include refurbishment of the facade and replacement of the glass in the skylight. The restored building will combine small retail and office spaces with 23 apartments.

In keeping with the Arcade’s scale and historic ambience the developer is looking for tenants that will be appropriate to this unique space: food, design, crafts and small boutiques will be targeted, no chain stores or national retailers. The office spaces will be ideal for small, entrepreneurial businesses such as accountants, design firms and small professional firms.
