City Trust Building
One of the cornerstones of the downtown redevelopment is the restoration and re-use of the former City Trust building, located at 955 Main Street.
Built as the 1920’s drew to a close, this magnificent structure was designed by Dennison & Hirons and Dwight P. Robinson. The ornate deco-style facade is of brick and marble with decorative wall panels.
The historically sensitive restoration currently under way will convert the building to a combination of ground floor retail and restaurant space, with offices and market rate residential apartments on the upper floors.
Not surprisingly, tenants are already lining up for the available retail spaces. At least one restaurant, the Fat Cat Pie Company, and a hardware and housewares retailer
