Downtown
AMENITIES

The revitalization of downtown Bridgeport has sparked increasing interest in residential properties in downtown Bridgeport. The conversion of the former Read’s department store into artist housing was the first in a series of exciting new residential developments that provide the opportunity to experience the best of the modern urban lifestyle.

Close to everything
Unlike most nearby urban centers, downtown Bridgeport is compact and easy to negotiate. Residents can walk to theaters, restaurants, museums and galleries-- and to the train station for a commute to corporate centers in Stamford and New York City. The ferry is nearby and there is easy access on and off I95 and Routes 8 & 25. It is a short walk to Harbor Yard to see the Bluefish play. One of the finest urban parks in the North East, Seaside Park has wonderful vistas of the harbor and Long Island Sound. This variety and accesibility can be a most appealing part of the urban experience!

Charming historic streetscape
Downtown Bridgeport is an attractive blend of historic and contemporary architecture. The streetscapes are charming and inviting, with the details of the majestic bank buildings, McLevy Hall and the Green. The ornate Barnum Museum stands in contrast to the stark modernism of Meier's Peoples Bank Center. The handsome, dignified office buildings along State and Broad Streets. The contemporary office building on Lafeyette between State and John Street. The Library and the Housatonic Community College campus. The theaters in the evening with their marquees lit. Twinkling lights in the trees on McLevy Green. Fireworks after a night game at Harbor Yard. The Circus is back in town at the new Arena.
