Living in downtown Bridgeport.

The revitalization of downtown Bridgeport has sparked increasing interest in residential properties. The conversion of the former Read’s department store into artist housing is the first in a series of exciting new residential developments that will provide the opportunity to experience the best of the modern urban lifestyle.

Close to everything
Unlike most nearby urban centers, downtown Bridgeport is compact and easy to negotiate. Residents can walk to theaters, restaurants, museums and galleries-- and to the train station for a commute to corporate centers in Stamford and New York City. The ferry is nearby and there is easy access on and off I95 and Routes 8 & 25. It is a short walk to Harbor Yard to see the Bluefish play. One of the finest urban parks in the North East, Seaside Park has wonderful vistas of the harbor and Long Island Sound. This variety and accesibility can be a most appealing part of the urban experience!

Charming historic streetscape
Downtown Bridgeport is an attractive blend of historic and contemporary architecture. The streetscapes are charming and inviting, with the details of the majestic bank buildings, McLevy Hall and the Green. The ornate Barnum Museum stands in contrast to the stark modernism of Meier's Peoples Bank Center. The handsome, dignified office buildings along State and Broad Streets. The contemporary office building on Lafeyette between State and John Street. The Library and the Housatonic Community College campus. The theaters in the evening with there marquees lit. A night game at Harbor Yard with fireworks over the river. The Circus is back in town and at the new Arena.

Affordable
Downtown Bridgeport is also one of the last remaining real estate bargains in all of Fairfield County. It’s a great place for young professionals to buy their first condo, or for active empty nesters who don’t want to spend their time on yard work and house repairs. As the City Trust block, Arcade and Downtown North developments move into high gear, an increasing number of rental apartments and condominium units will become available in the next few years.
