On Small Business Saturday – November 28, 2020 – the Bridgeport DSSD will kick off “Shop Locally, Give Colorfully” to encourage residents, workers, and visitors alike to shop local this holiday season and enjoy the Downtown’s businesses. Created by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday celebrates the impact small businesses have on communities across the country. An average two-thirds of every dollar ($0.67) spent at a small business in the U.S. stays in that local community. That means shopping small could help bring things like better schools, smoother roads, and new jobs to neighborhoods across the country. Even though the holidays may look a little different this year, our Downtown restaurants and businesses can help make the season special. Whether you give the gift of art, a delicious meal, the perfect handcrafted accessory, or brand-new kicks this holiday season; make sure to shop locally and give colorfully!
