<![CDATA[Cuba Caliente - Bolero, Son, Latin Jazz! The rhythms of Cuba will have you on your feet, featuring master pianist, Carlos Manuel Gomez and his quartet. Saxophone: Felipe Lamoglia, Bass: Alberto Miranda, Drums: Keisel Jimenez Carlos Gomez is a Cuban-born Jazz Pianist, trained in classical piano at the National School of Art in Havana and The Carl Nielsen International Conservatory in Moscow. Gomez’s passion turned to Jazz in his late teens, influenced by Irakere and the rapidly growing Jazz movement in Cuba in the 70s and 80s. Much of his inspiration has come from Cuban pianists, Chucho Valdez and Gonzalo Rubalcaba, and American pianist, Chick Corea. After graduating from the NSA, Gomez was a music professor at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogota for over a decade. In the United States he managed a Jazz Trio at the St. Regis in Bal Harbour and has played numerous events at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Miami, including the well-known series Jazz @ MOCA. In New York City, Gomez has played multiple times at the popular Nuyorican Poets Cafe, and in Connecticut, various concerts at Amadeus Piano in Stamford where he is currently recording a CD with Amadeus Records.]]>
